Multicultural Students Profile
The University of South Alabama currently has an enrollment of about 15,000 students of which about 2800 are graduate students. The student body is diverse. Presently 67 % of the students are Caucasian, 18 % are African-American, and the remaining 15% represent a variety of ethnicities. By gender the student body is 60% female and 40% male. 7% of the student population is international representing 99 different countries. In terms of age, 35% of the graduate students are age 25 and younger, 22% between 26-30, and 43% over 30 years of age.
The Office of Multicultural Student Affairs coordinates a variety of activities and services to enhance cultural awareness and communication. An active Council of International Students Organization (CISO) also represents the social interests of International Students.
